Response Issue With Your Bot

If I am not wrong, you thought Setbots is not working just because it doesn't read keywords defined by you in the "Setup AI Phrase" Section of its Dashboard. Well, it's an issue but not with Setbots. 

ISSUE 1: Your Bot is responding BUT with the Default Reply or a Different Message.

What might have happened?

Something is blocking the ability of your bot to respond.

What to do?


Turn OFF "Automated Response" on Facebook: Facebook has certain rules, regulations, and values to protect their user experience. Before integrating Setbots with your Facebook page, you may have activated the Facebook automated reply (instant reply). Setbots works fine if you just turn it off.

To turn off an instant reply:

Step 1: Click Inbox at the top of your Page.

Step 2: Click Automated Responses in the left column.

Step 3: Click next to Instant Reply below Greet Customers to turn instant reply off.


Make sure you do not have any other type of bot connected to your Facebook page besides Setbots. To check it, Go to your Facebook Page's settings. Click "Messenger Platform". Make sure you have no other bot platforms in your subscribed apps section.

ISSUE 2: My Bot Won't Respond at all

What is happening?

You are sending messages to your bot and getting no response at all.

What to do?


Make sure your Facebook page has a working "Send Message" button.

This should appear at the bottom right of the cover photo. If it says something else, like "Learn More", hover over the button, click edit, and set it to say "Send Message".


Check your bot connection

Ensure that your bot is connected to a valid Facebook business page. Try disconnecting and reconnecting your bot.


Check if Live Takeover has occurred

Live takeover temporarily disables the bot.  If you have sent a manual message, the bot will disengage until the automation is paused. To manually re-engage the bot, click on the Red Cross Mark "❌".
